You never know who or what’s gonna come your way. The key to attracting certain things is to make sure that you remain open. It’s so easy to close yourself off, protect yourself from potential opportunities. But it’s on the other side of those opportunities where growth lies. Protection leads to permanence. And permanence is not a state for humans. Nothing is set in finality; growth is what enables humans to be what they are. Animals act in loops. They do the same thing over and over. What really allows humans to diverge from the trend is the choice of growth. The only way you can allow that growth to happen, though, is through being open. So be yourself, be vulnerable, be human. It’s what separates us from the animals.
There’s a proper balance that exists between patience and opportunity. Working hard creates opportunities, but it’s not the end goal. You work hard to attract that opportunity, but patience is what glues it together. It’s the stitches and seams that keep the fabric that is your work strong. That work doesn’t have to be career—it can be whatever goal or growth dimension you are currently working towards. In a world full of status chasing and overwork, don’t allow yourself to be motivated by the wrong things. Wanting nice stuff is good; we all like fancy stuff, but pursuit in the sacrifice of what is life won’t reap the reward you are seeking. Enjoy the stitches and seams, the in-between, because that’s what holds it all together.
